Gatekeeper Systems Awarded $467k in School Bus Company Contracts

Public transportation video and data solutions provider Gatekeeper Systems Inc. was awarded multiple contracts from several school bus manufacturers.

This month, Canada-based company Gatekeeper has been awarded around $467,000 in contracts from Thomas Built Buses, Blue Bird Bus Corporation, and IC Bus to equip school buses with its "Platform-as-a-Service" (PaaS) technology. The PaaS business model is centered around mobile data collectors that record and analyze video, audio, GPS location, and data on the school bus, becoming the on-board intelligence platform for future applications like passenger counting, contact tracing, and more. Interior cameras and exterior 360-degree viewing systems enable a safer transportation environment, both inside and outside the school bus.

To date, Gatekeeper has installed about 40,000 intelligent mobile data collectors and 100,000 video devices on school buses for more than 3,500 school district customers.
