BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. — Wheelchair lift and ramp supplier Ricon Corp., part of the Wabtec Bus Solutions group, has introduced its newly redesigned Classic S-Series and K-Series lifts.

The electro-hydraulic powered Classic S-Series and K-Series offer an 800-pound lift capacity, audio and visual threshold warning system, and patented Sto-Loc technology to prevent lift drift, according to a news release from the supplier. Other features include lubrication-free bearings and pins, a built-in manual backup system, and a five-year limited warranty. Additionally, the magnetized Classic hand control pendant attaches directly to the frame when the lift is stowed or loading.

Ricon Safety Zone security features on the lifts include a patented, fully interlocked restraint belt system, fully interlocked inner and outer rollstop barriers, side rails, and handrails with platform lighting.

In particular, the Classic K-Series KlearVue model includes a platform that automatically folds, allowing unobstructed views for drivers and passengers.

John Condon, vice president of sales, North America for Ricon, said that the Ricon Classic wheelchair lift “has become an industry standard, transporting passengers across town or children to school.”

“With updated, fully interlocked inboard and outboard rollstops, operators can expect years of safe, reliable service,” he added.

Designed for U.S. Department of Transportation Public Use vehicles, Ricon’s Classic lifts comply with all applicable Americans With Disabilities Act and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) regulations.
