SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Pupil Transportation Safety Institute (PTSI) has launched an updated training series that thoroughly explains the duties of the school bus attendant.
The package provides complete instructional materials for teaching the 15-hour program, which involves classroom and on-bus activities.
Included in the bundle are an instructor’s guide, a CD with PowerPoint slides, a sample trainee workbook and the training video “Someone Who Made a Difference.” Trainee workbooks are sold in packs of 10 and 100.
The curriculum is broken down into five modules:
PTSI dedicated the training program to Linda Yenzer, who passed away earlier this year. Yenzer served as transportation director for Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, N.J., and was also known for developing several school bus safety videos.
