The Commissioners of the California Energy Commission approved a grant to National Strategies for $1.4 million for an all electric school bus demonstration program in California. Coupled with a previous grant, the total of $2.2 million will lead to the development of six buses that will be deployed in Torrance Unified School District, Kings Canyon Unified School District and Napa Valley Unified School District.
Read More →The study, conducted by the University of Delaware’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment, examined the cost-effectiveness of electric school buses that use vehicle-to-grid technology, discharging their batteries into the electrical grid when not in use and getting paid for the service. Over 14 years, an electric bus fleet using the technology could save an estimated $38 million, according to the research.
