The New Jersey State Bar Foundation's “Working It Out” program shows educators — including school bus drivers and pupil transportation officials — how to use conflict resolution lessons and the foundation’s curriculum guides to train students to be peer mediators. Its “Bullying and Teasing” program provides approaches for combating student bullying.

Boy allegedly bullied by special-needs student on bus

The mother of a 9-year-old boy says her son was hospitalized after he was kicked by an older student while riding the bus. She wants the other student to be taken off of the bus, but she says school officials told her that the student cannot be removed because he has special needs.

Contractor supports anti-bullying event

Delaney Bus Lines employees wear pink T-shirts on Feb. 23 in observance of Pink Shirt Day. The Canadian event originated from an incident several years ago when two students organized a protest to show support for a boy who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school.
