Show attendees had the opportunity to examine the SmarTemp Control fx and explore its functionality and features with a portable display in Webasto’s booth.
The SmarTemp Control fx Timer is suited for school bus fleets and commercial trucking fleets that are working to reduce emissions and need to comply with anti-idling regulations.
Webasto fuel-operated heaters eliminate the need to idle for engine pre-heat. Company officials said that these high-efficiency heaters provide many benefits, including fuel savings, reduced engine wear and reduced emissions during cold start. The new SmarTemp Control fx Timer enhances the operation of these engine-off heaters.
The new timer allows up to four different timer settings per day. Its LCD screen displays both week-at-a-glance and month-at-a-glance settings, and timer settings are saved indefinitely until changed.
“The Webasto SmarTemp Control fx Timer is a smart solution for programming engine pre-heat for fleets,” said Mark Hickey, vice president of business development for Webasto Thermo & Comfort North America. “Using this device with a Webasto heater and effective idle reduction strategy can save fleets thousands of dollars per year. The fleet will also benefit from reduced maintenance costs, driver and passenger safety, and reduced emissions.”
