COROZAL, Puerto Rico — School transportation provider Transporte Sonnell was selected to become a dealer for Thomas Built Buses at the beginning of 2016.
Transporte Sonnell will only carry Thomas Built buses, but is also a dealer for Cummins engines and carries original parts and certified replacement parts for school buses.
“I believe that Thomas Built selected us because we are a highly organized company and we have a very structured administration,” said Rickie Rodríguez, president of Transporte Sonnell. “The maintenance service that we offer [and] the care that we take of our engineers and certified mechanics ... are some of the qualities that distinguish us.”
The new dealership will be located in the township of Bayamón.
“Transporte Sonnell brings a level of expertise to our customers that will result in a premium customer experience when coupled with our products,” said Ken Hedgecock Jr., vice president of sales, marketing, and service for Thomas Built Buses.
Additionally, Transporte Sonnell has been running its headquarters on 100% solar energy since 2013. The contractor’s concern about the environment, combined with its passion for efficiency, prompted the switch to alternative energy, Rodríguez added.
“Our innovation is not only limited to being powered by solar energy," he said. "We also replaced our units for new ones, further reducing our carbon dioxide emissions.”
