Thomas Built Dealer Transportation South Certified for Platinum Support
The program involves training to eliminate waste from business practices by reducing vehicle downtime and lowering life-cycle costs.
Transportation South in Pelham, Alabama, has become Thomas Built Buses’ latest Platinum Support certified dealer.
Platinum Support is a collaborative effort between Thomas Built Buses and its dealers that focuses on improving the customer experience, targeting such areas as rapid diagnosis, responsive turnaround, consistent communication and robust parts availability.
Platinum Support certified dealers undergo training in which they learn to eliminate waste from day-to-day business practices by reducing vehicle downtime and lowering vehicle life-cycle costs to the customer.
“Transportation South has been one of our top dealers for years, so this Platinum Support certification fits them nicely,” said Paul Start, market growth development manager for Thomas Built Buses.
Transportation South offers school, commercial and activity buses, along with service and parts. The dealership joins several other Platinum Support certified locations: Carolina Thomas of Greensboro, North Carolina; the Sonny Merryman dealership of Evington, Virginia; and Autobus Thomas in Drummondville, Quebec.
“Platinum Support is not just an award to put on the wall, but is most certainly a culture in itself,” said Bucky Law, president and owner of Transportation South. “It means we have processes in place to better meet our customers’ needs. … We have become even more efficient, and our customers reap the rewards.”
