MCLEAN, Va. — Edupro Group has announced the theme of the 2012 National Conference & Exhibition on Transporting Students With Disabilities & Preschoolers: “Ready to Learn.”
“Our theme for the 2012 conference is so appropriate, it merely tapped me on the shoulder and suggested itself,” Edupro Group President Roseann Schwaderer said. “After all, the goal of the transportation community is to get students to school safely, efficiently and ready to learn. Tie that to the fact that our conferees always come ready to learn — and enthusiastically participate in classroom, hands-on and networking activities from Friday through Wednesday — and you’ve got it wrapped.”
Topics that will be covered during next year’s event include administering medications; driver/monitor collaborations and conflicts; team building within and external to your silo; companion animals; student disabilities and the bus ride; participating in the IEP process; bullying and behavior; bus stop issues; equipment scheduling; securement and restraint; preschool transportation best practices; and the latest information on laws and compliance issues.
Moreover, Schwaderer is inviting pupil transporters to contact Edupro Group if there is a topic that they would like to see addressed in next year’s program. Send an e-mail to conference@eduprogroup.com prior to mid-July.
The 21st National Conference & Exhibition on Transporting Students With Disabilities & Preschoolers will be held March 9-14, 2012, in Orlando, Fla.
The 15th National Special Needs Team Safety Roadeo will be held March 9-11 and includes free conference sessions for team contestants. For more details and conference registration fees, go to www.eduprogroup.com.
