SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Carrier Transport Air Conditioning’s new color-coded FlexCLIK hose and fitting refrigerant system is designed to make bus air conditioning system installation and troubleshooting easier.

The FlexCLIK system offers color-coded laylines on each hose according to air conditioning function. For example, the No. 8 liquid line bears a green linear stripe; the hot gas bypass or No. 10 discharge line is marked with a red layline, and the No. 12 and optional No. 16 discharge lines are marked with blue laylines.

“This color coding will help mistake-proof bus air conditioning system installation and also serves as an aid for the field service technician during system diagnosis and troubleshooting,” says Dave Oberdorff, marketing manager, Carrier North America Bus. “For example, the red layline refrigerant discharge line No. 10 should always connect the discharge port of the compressor to the condenser inlet port.”

The FlexCLIK system’s refrigerant fitting, assembly clamps and O-rings are now bagged together, providing the service technician or installer with all the parts needed to complete the air conditioning connection in one package.

Moreover, by jointly bagging these components, they are kept in a clean, dirt- and moisture-free environment until they are needed. Technicians will no longer need to remove fitting caps — they can just quickly open the bag and begin the assembly process. Each fitting bag is also marked with a corresponding green, red and blue bar matching the No. 8, No. 10, No. 12 and No. 16 hoses, respectively.

The FlexCLIK hose and fitting system is manufactured in U.S. in accordance with SAE-J2064 Type E hose specifications.
