TULSA, Okla. — The summer session of IC Bus University, the school bus manufacturer’s maintenance training program, will be held here the week of July 25.
Attendees will be provided with up to 42 hours of instruction on bus maintenance, engines, bus electrical, air conditioning, paint maintenance, Navistar parts, Ricon lifts, Allison transmissions, SMI equipment and other relevant areas for school bus technicians. They will also receive a guided plant tour.
John Thompson, director of training for IC Bus said, “We continue to have tremendous interest in IC Bus University. We believe that it is ‘best in class’ training for the self-maintainer, and based upon the number of inquiries that I have received asking about our next session, I would expect the July session to fill quickly. We anticipate offering IC Bus University two more times in 2011, and our plan will be to offer advanced IC Bus University sessions in 2011 also.”
Attendees should plan to arrive in Tulsa by noon on Monday, July 25. They will be responsible for transportation to and from Tulsa, their hotel ($99 per night and includes breakfast), an evening meal and the class fee of $300.
IC Bus will furnish daily transportation, including airport pick up, which will be provided by the host hotel, and return transportation to the airport on Friday, July 29. Return flights should be scheduled after 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
Lunch will be provided Monday through Friday. All books and session materials will also be provided.
Registration for the July session can be done through your local IC Bus dealer. For more information, contact Thompson at (501) 505-2287, (501) 269-2700 or john.thompson@navistar.com.
