PASSAIC, N.J. — A school bus carrying special-needs students crashed into a lawn of a home here on Tuesday, police said.
Officers responded to the incident at 529 Harrison St. at around 3:41 p.m., according to a news release from the Passaic Police Department. The bus, operated by Jersey Kids Transportation Inc., was transporting students home from CTC Academy when the bus driver told police that the bus's brakes had failed after starting the bus from a stop. The driver added that the bus sideswiped another vehicle and then came to rest on the lawn of a home.
