HIGH POINT, N.C. — After an array of publicity for the 2006 “Children’s Choice School Bus Driver of the Year” that included an appearance on the CBS Early Show, the hunt for this year’s successor to Elaine Brogan has begun.
Thomas Built Buses has launched the second edition of the contest, which calls for children in kindergarten through sixth grade to nominate their favorite school bus driver by submitting an essay about what makes their driver special.
The contest runs through July 16, 2007, and will award the child who nominates the winning driver with a $1,000 educational savings bond and a laptop computer. The winning driver will receive a $1,000 Visa gift card.
Bob Ramsdell, senior vice president of human resources and safety for Durham School Services, and SBF Editor/Associate Publisher Steve Hirano will assist Thomas Built Buses in judging entries. Winners will be notified and announced in September.
Contest rules and details on how to enter are posted at www.thomasbus.com/contest.
