NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA — A school bus here lost two rear tires on the way to school last week, WPVI reports.
The tires fell off the bus, which is operated by Philly Trans, at about 7:30 a.m. on March 3, according to the news source. Philly Trans is a contractor for the School District of Philadelphia. A parent told WPVI that her daughter, an eighth-grade student, texted her photos of the bus, but told her that everyone was OK. Another bus eventually arrived to transport the students to school.
The district told the news source that a school bus losing its tires has not happened here before, and added that Philly Trans has a good record. The district is investigating the incident and asking to see the records of the bus, particularly the age of the bus, how many miles it has, and service performed on the bus.
