According to Nucap, this mechanical attachment technology holds the friction material better than any adhesive bond.
“Research shows that poor quality brake pad backing plates are a major cause of brake system noise, vibration and durability issues,” said Jayson Keever, Nucap’s director of global marketing. “Our NRS technology was developed to help our customers eliminate brake system comebacks and warranty returns. Pads manufactured with NRS last up to 30% longer by avoiding common causes of pad failure like rust jacking, edge lift and friction material delamination.”
Company officials said that more than 750 million brake pads equipped with NRS have been sold to date with no attachment failures.
“Service professionals are seeing fewer comebacks and more satisfied customers,” Keever said. “We’re so confident in the performance of pads equipped with NRS, we launched an industry-first 100% Brake Pad Performance Guarantee in May 2013.”
