CHITTENANGO, N.Y. — Blue Bird school bus dealer New York Bus Sales has hired Bob Gilkinson as an on-road service technician.

Gilkinson will be responsible for addressing service issues at customers’ locations in eight counties in western New York. New York Bus Sales has locations in Rochester, Albany and Syracuse.

“It’s imperative to have a strong on-road service technician to cover our western territory and provide the customer service that we pride ourselves on,” said Marlene Denney, owner of New York Bus Sales. “With Bob as part of the team, we will be able to assist our customers faster and more efficiently.”

Before joining New York Bus Sales, Gilkinson worked at the former Fire Equipment Sales and Service as a heavy-equipment mechanic for nine years. Prior to that position, he worked in the Cassadaga Valley Central School District as an assistant head mechanic and transportation supervisor.

Gilkinson is a 19-A certified examiner and is certified as a school bus driver instructor in New York state. He completed the diesel technology diploma program at the University of Northwestern Ohio.

New York Bus Sales also recently hired a new director of parts, Jim Hogan.
