GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — There were plenty of interesting sights to be seen and innovative products on display at the 33rd Annual NAPT Trade Show.
With windows overlooking the sparkling Grand River, the convention center was packed with more than 140 exhibitors and a steady stream of attendees.
School bus manufacturers and industry suppliers showcased their latest equipment and services while injecting some entertainment into the proceedings.
Celebrating the new version of its field trip software, TripTracker, VersaTrans Solutions turned its booth into a miniature football field. Company representatives wore jerseys and offered visitors a chance to test their pigskin-tossing skills.
Buster the Bus, operated by Robotronics staff with a remote control, scooted up and down the aisles, stopping occasionally to spin or display his flashing lights and stop arm.
Also wandering the aisles was a Blue Bird Corp. mascot (a walking bird, not a bus).
Collins Bus Corp. displayed its first Type A school bus, a converted yellow van built in 1967.
One exhibitor even had an inflatable raft in its space.
Comprehensive coverage of the trade show and corresponding conference will appear in the January issue of SCHOOL BUS FLEET.
