REPUBLIC, Mo. — Work begins this month on a new, larger transportation facility for Republic School District, which will feature enhanced safety and efficiency, KY3 reports.
The facility will have more than five times the space of the current facility, which is comprised of three acres. The new facility will also include two entrance and exit points instead of one, to reduce traffic congestion, Chance Wistrom, the district’s superintendent, told the news outlet.
Additionally, the facility will offer more space for technicians to work on the 51 buses in the fleet, more staff parking spaces and a bigger driver training area, according to KY3.
The facility is expected to be completed next fall, the news outlet reports.
