The Minnesota Association for Pupil Transportation (MAPT) has launched a new website that offers an enhanced look and a variety of new features.

Randy Dukek, immediate past president of the association, told SBF that the goal of the redesign was “to create an attractive and useful tool for our members and the public.”

Some of the new items on the site are a calendar with conferences and other events, an advertising area, and an e-commerce area (or “shopping cart”) for registrations and purchases. MAPT’s online store sells a school bus inspection training video and a school bus safety computer game for kids, among other resources.

The association also revamped its members-only area, bringing it up-to-date and making it more useful and easy to use.

Dukek said that as technology advances, MAPT aims to provide its membership with a variety of ways to access information. Along with the association’s three conferences and numerous other training events each year, the website will be a growing source of information.

“As time goes on, we hope to make available to members and other select entities the ability to go to the website to access training courses and/or best practices for drivers, bus assistants and transportation administrative staff,” Dukek said.
