ADAMS, Mass. — A man was arrested for allegedly shooting at two school buses with a BB gun here last week.

On March 4, at 2:22 p.m., the Adams Police Department received reports that two school buses were possibly shot at, according to a police department press release. The reports indicated that a window on each bus had been shattered and a “popping noise” was heard upon impact.

Officers contained and isolated the area, and there was no danger to the other buses. During the investigation, it was quickly determined that a firearm was not involved, and that the damage sustained was caused by a BB gun. As a result of the investigation, Bailey Hisert, 20, was arrested.

Each bus had only the driver and a single passenger aboard, and no one was injured in the incident, but a child was showered in glass as a result of the window shattering, The Berkshire Eagle reports. Hisert allegedly fired the BB gun as the buses passed his home after initially shooting at squirrels, according to the newspaper.

Hisert has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon; malicious destruction of property over $250; and disorderly conduct. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be pending.

Hisert pleaded not guilty in court on Monday, and was released without bail with GPS monitoring, The Berkshire Eagle reports.
