Man allegedly impersonates police officer, pulls over bus
Authorities are searching for the suspect, who was driving a silver sedan and used blue and red flashing lights mounted in his vehicle to signal for the Redlands (Calif.) Unified School District bus driver to pull over. The man reportedly stated that he was a police officer, and he displayed a gold badge in the shape of a star.
REDLANDS, Calif. — Authorities are searching for a man who is suspected of impersonating a police officer and pulling over a school bus last week, CBS Los Angeles reports.
A Redlands Unified School District bus driver had exited a freeway when the suspect, who was driving a silver sedan, used blue and red flashing lights mounted underneath the rearview mirror of his vehicle to signal for the bus to pull over.
The suspect reportedly stated that he was a police officer, and he displayed a gold badge in the shape of a star. Police also said that the man had an identification card affixed to his shirt with the word "Investigator" in red letters, according to CBS Los Angeles. Authorities said the man drove away after the bus driver said she was calling the California Highway Patrol.
