The two-way radio supplier introduces the KWSA80K and KWSA50K handset devices, designed with hardware and functional advancements.

The Kenwood branded KWSA80K smartphone device is designed for heavy-duty industrial use.

IRVING, Texas — Two-way radio supplier JVCKenwood Corp. has released two new Kenwood branded smartphone devices: the KWSA80K and KWSA50K.
The push-to-talk smartphone devices are designed with hardware and functional advancements for the hazardous and extreme conditions faced by transportation, enterprise, and mission control users.
Both models are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and FirstNet Band 14 capable and feature Kenwood audio for clear voice communications in noisy work environments.
The KWSA80K smartphone is designed specifically for mission critical and heavy-duty industrial use with a 5-inch sunlight readable, puncture-resistant touchscreen which can be used with dirty or wet work gloves.

In addition, the KSWA80K has a loudspeaker, built-in noise cancellation, a long life battery, and is compatible with a variety of accessories and apps. The device also provides protection from oil, chemical, and microparticle intrusion, and has resistance to drop/impact, shock/vibration, and extreme temperatures, according to JVCKenwood.
The KWSA50K device is engineered for construction, transportation, and manufacturing workers, and is designed with an industrial grade, impact-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass display and a large PTT button, making it easy to use wearing work gloves. It also features two front-facing speakers and a dual shift battery, and is also dust, oil, chemical, and microparticle resistant, making it capable of withstanding punctures, shock/vibration and drops onto concrete.
JVCKenwood manufactures analog and digital two-way radios, including P25-compliant and Nexedge radios, that use the NXDN protocol.
