BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Fleetio has integrated its maintenance and fuel management feature with Geotab, a global GPS and telematics provider.
The integration provides both Fleetio and Geotab customers the ability to further streamline fleet management processes and reduce operational costs by offering automated odometer updates, diagnostic trouble code (DTC) handling and fuel location exception reporting, company officials said.
With one-click navigation between the two systems and the added ability to see current vehicle locations within Fleetio, the integration will allow users to automatically sync odometer readings every day or use a one-click option to manually trigger a sync at any time, according to Fleetio. Users can reduce the risk of fuel theft with email notifications and map visualizations, noting discrepancies between fuel-up location and vehicle location. Email notifications can also be set to manage DTCs and engine faults, allowing users to diagnose and resolve fault codes with one click.
“The integration between Fleetio and Geotab provides us with a true one-stop-shop system, allowing us to save time and money,” said Phil Johnson, fleet manager at Zerorez. “The direct communication between Geotab’s location data and our preventive maintenance calendar in Fleetio gives us a precise fleet management timeline and notifies us in real time as maintenance tasks need to be performed.”
