MERIDIAN, Idaho — A mother and her children here recently told KTVB how much they appreciate their school bus driver and aide.
Lindsay Larsen told the news source that her children, who ride a Cascade Student Transportation bus to and from elementary school, have special needs that include autism, and speech and developmental delays. She added that bus driver Cindy Phillips and monitor Mikey Lee give her peace of mind, and that when her son Christian refuses to get on the bus in the morning, Lee helps “cheer him up and get them there.” Christian told KTVB that he really likes Lee and Phillips because “they are so kind.”
Lee and Phillips were surprised at being recognized, according to KTVB. Phillips described it as being “very humbling” and added that she feels good that Larsen “trusts us so much with her precious cargo." Lee told the news source that he enjoys his job because “you know you are doing something that is actually helping out," and "it's not a job about money. It's about the passion behind it."
