DELAVAN, Wis. — School bus drivers, their children, a manager, mechanic and even the mayor (his wife happens to be a school bus driver) are all featured in a calendar for 2010 produced by Dousman Transport, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

The "Dudes of Dousman" who bravely volunteered to pose for the calendar are dressed humorously as women, wearing everything from wigs and jewelry to dresses and heels. The children posed for the month of May, dressed as spring flowers and a butterfly. "The guys were awesome," Terminal Manager Elizabeth Spreier says. "It was so much fun."

This is the company's ninth year participating in the Relay for Life, and the calendar is its biggest project yet. At $10 a calendar, Dousman Transport has the opportunity to raise $10,000 if they sell out. So far, they have raised $1,400 in about a month. The project has been featured on local news channels and in the newspaper.

Over the past eight years, Team Dousman Transport — part of the Wisconsin, Walworth County Relay for Life — has been able to raise more than $46,000 for the American Cancer Society.

"The mayor is really good about getting involved in pretty much anything we ask him to do," Spreier says. "We live in a small town, so it's very community oriented. The mayor's niece did the photo shoot, and his sister-in-law organized the whole thing."
