La. lawmakers won't pay for crossing-arm installations
BATON ROUGE, La. — Earlier this year, legislation was signed that requires school districts to retrofit older buses with crossing arms. However, lawmakers decided not to provide funding for the installations. State education officials said that they have encouraged school districts to install the devices but said that they are not required to do so because the law was not funded.
