South Carolina DOE buys buses from Kentucky districts

Eighty-six used buses purchased at an auction will replace the state’s 26- and 27-year-old units. South Carolina’s superintendent of education calls on the General Assembly to conduct a comprehensive study of the state's overall tax structure and to develop an adequate revenue system to facilitate the allocation of funding for bus replacements more regularly.

School district to increase bus service

At a time of widespread transportation cuts, ISD 196 in Minnesota came up with a plan to offer school bus service for a fee to students who aren’t currently eligible. The school board approved the proposal on Monday, and it will go into effect next year.

Trucker gets 3 years in fatal bus crash

The tractor-trailer driver was allegedly using his cell phone before ramming into a stopped school bus in Florida in 2008. The fiery collision took the life of a 13-year-old student and injured several others.
