President of W.L. Roenigk Inc. passes away

William L. Roenigk Jr., who was also owner of the Pennsylvania-based company, succumbed to his battle with leukemia on Saturday at the age of 57. Roenigk’s father founded the company, and he began working for it after graduating from high school in 1973.

Florida bill would permit photo enforcement of bus passing

The legislation would enable school boards to authorize that cameras be installed on school buses to capture motorists who illegally pass the buses, and then use that as evidence for law enforcement to issue citations. Violators would be issued a $250 fine.

Bus driver loses her legs following accident

Police in Flat Rock, Mich., say that the victim, who was not named, was helping another driver plug a bus into a battery charging system when the bus accelerated uncontrolled, hitting the victim. She sustains severe trauma to her lower extremities and has to have both legs amputated above the knee.

Nebraska bill targets bus driver cell phone use

New legislation aims to prohibit school bus drivers from using interactive wireless communication devices while the bus in motion. However, a rule to that effect was already approved by the Nebraska Department of Education last year.
