New state director named in Montana

Following the retirement of Maxine Mougeot, who held the position for nearly 10 years, Donell Rosenthal is chosen as state pupil transportation director. Rosenthal had been working for the Montana Office of Public Instruction as a computer support specialist and serving as the backup for Mougeot.

REMINDER: Study seeks to improve wheelchair transport safety

School bus drivers and attendants are asked to share their experiences in a survey being conducted by university researchers. The outcome is expected to help bolster the safety of wheelchair-seated students by identifying needs for improved technologies, standards and training. The survey, which was announced in March, will close at the end of this month.

Former owner, president of Virginia bus company passes away

Mark D. Fisher started Virginia Overland Transportation with his parents in 1973 as a school bus consulting service. The company grew to provide many types of contracted transportation and also operated bus dealerships. Fisher passed away on April 30 at age 59.
