NAPT, Zonar offer another $50K grant
The grant is for fleet management technology from Zonar that targets school bus security and efficiency. It will go to a school system whose transportation director is an NAPT member.
The National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) and Zonar Systems are again jointly offering a $50,000 grant to provide fleet management technology to a school system whose transportation director is an NAPT member.
“We recognize the difficulty that local school systems encounter in their efforts to acquire and implement leading-edge technology systems, especially in the current economic climate,” NAPT Executive Director Mike Martin said. “This grant will not only help a school system save real dollars, it can lead to real improvements in student safety.”
The grant includes $50,000 worth of Zonar's Electronic Vehicle Inspection Reporting system — including asset and zone tags to verify the completion of pre-trip, post-trip, child check and security sweep inspections — as well as Zonar's V2J High-Definition GPS system, vehicle diagnostics and ZPass student ridership tracking system.
(The grant does not cover the monthly service fee, which will vary per month per vehicle depending on the hardware selected. )
“We are glad to join NAPT in offering this grant for a third time,” said Don Carnahan, Zonar’s director of school bus marketing. “It will enable a school system to acquire the equipment and hardware they desire to utilize the ‘Inspect, Track and Know’ tools that are becoming best practice nationwide.”
