Allied Specialty Vehicles forms bus group, names Kent Tyler CEO

Tyler, the former president of Collins Bus Corp., will lead the new Allied Specialty Vehicles (ASV) Bus Division. The group will include Type A school bus brands Collins, Mid Bus and Corbeil as well as seven bus brands from ASV’s recent acquisition of Thor Industries’ bus business.

NASDPTS bolsters support for lap-shoulder belts

The state directors association had previously expressed its support for lap-shoulder belts if funding is made available. Now, the NASDPTS board strengthens its position by dropping the funding clause.
