Bus service for regular-education students was discontinued in the 2010-11 school year due to budget issues.

Man who stole bus to go to Detroit found not guilty

Josiah Daniel Curtis, 26, who broke into a Wyoming, Mich., school bus yard last year and stole a bus to drive to Detroit so that he could record music, was found not guilty by reason of insanity. Curtis appeared in Michigan's Kent County Circuit Court for trial on multiple felony charges, including malicious destruction of property over $20,000 and vehicle theft.

The school bus manufacturer presents the keys to a freshly painted 24-foot bus to Bob Votruba, founder of One Million Acts of Kindness. The bus is an upgrade from the 23-year-old bus the organization purchased in 2009 for Votruba to travel around the country, speaking to public schools, colleges, homeless shelters, hospitals and businesses, striving to inspire daily kindness, empathy and peace.

Fire prompts aide, drivers to distribute smoke detectors
