ALBANY, N.Y. — NAPT members will vote on four key board-of-directors positions this fall at the association's annual conference.
Elections for president-elect, director of Region 1, director of Region 5 and director-at-large will be held during the event, which will be in Grand Rapids, Mich., from Oct. 28 to Nov. 1.
Ralph "Corky" Bynum of Safety Systems and Controls in Houston was nominated to run for the president-elect role, which will become available at the conference when William Tousley of Farmington (Mich.) Public Schools succeeds Lenny Bernstein of Haverstraw-Stony Point Central School District in Garnerville, N.Y., as president.
Bynum was nominated by NAPT members J. Steven Kalmes of the Anchorage (Alaska) School District, Jerry B. Milliken of Roane County Schools in Spencer, W.Va., and Bob Rubin of Easy Way Safety Services in Cincinnati.
The president-elect and at-large directors are selected by vote of all active members. Regional directors are selected by vote of only those active members whose mailing address is within that specific region.
Anyone interested in becoming a candidate for the NAPT board of directors must be an active association member of at least two years and be nominated by at least two active members. Candidates for regional director must be nominated by members from that particular region.
For more information, call NAPT headquarters at (800) 989-NAPT.
