AMF-Bruns of America has unveiled its latest wheelchair securement: the Protektor 2.0 SilverSeries.

The new generation of the SilverSeries is a four-point securement system that has been redesigned to fit into smaller spaces, lighter, and easy to use, the company announced on Thursday. The cover of the wheelchair restraints is made of zinc die-casting — a material that makes the retractors robust and suitable for daily use in vehicles, according to AMF-Bruns.

The retractors are anchored to the vehicle floor with a L-track fitting or a Smart fitting and can be tethered to the wheelchair with a J-hook, carabiner, or loop attachment, according to the company. The wheelchair restraint system can also be optimized by using an occupant securement system.

The SilverSeries is compatible with all wheelchairs and vehicles, and, according to AMF-Bruns, meets the following requirements: ISO 10542; SAE J2249; FMVSS 209,302,210,222; CMVSS 209; CSA Z605; AS 2596; and ADA.
