Firm provides financing for Atlantic Express bus purchase

Fleet Financing Resources funds $875,000 for Atlantic Express of L.A. Inc. that will go toward five 2012 compressed natural gas-fueled Blue Bird A3RE school buses. The transaction was partially supported by a $225,000 clean transportation grant from Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee.

Atlantic Express buys 25 Collins propane buses

The school bus contractor purchases the Collins Bus Corp. Type A propane-powered buses for its Los Angeles Unified School District contract. The buses are built on General Motors chassis with liquid propane injection systems by CleanFuel USA.

Atlantic Express expands use of GreenRoad technology

The school bus contractor is now using the company’s driving performance and safety management system in more than 2,300 buses serving the greater New York City metro area. Noel Cabrera, executive vice president of Atlantic Express, says that the company chose GreenRoad’s system because it provides an in-bus “coach” that is with each driver every day and on every mile.

Bus brings art to Bronx kids

A repurposed school bus will serve as a mobile museum, visiting schools, community centers and parks with art and educational exhibits on board. The museum's director tells SBF that children in the borough are "dramatically under-served" in exposure to the arts.

Atlantic Express extends N.Y. DOE contract

Under the agreement, the contractor will provide transportation services to students in New York City for five more years, a move that is anticipated to generate $1.4 billion in revenue. Atlantic Express has been serving students in the area since 1972.

Atlantic Express boosts driver safety with GreenRoad technology

The contractor is installing the GreenRoad 360 service on its buses. GreenRoad 360 provides drivers and fleet managers with real-time feedback to improve driving decisions and performance while also offering online reporting, analysis and coaching on drivers’ abilities, maneuvers and patterns.
