Association speaks out against ads on school buses

In a letter to state legislators, the New York Association for Pupil Transportation calls for the defeat of bills that would allow advertisements to be placed on yellow school buses. Executive Director Peter Mannella says that compromising the iconic color of school buses with ads “presents safety risks to our children.”

District honored for safety and performance excellence

The South Shore Regional School Board receives the Gold Nova Scotia Pupil Transportation Achievement Award for the second consecutive year. Inspectors look at such factors as driver training and accident reporting. The district also achieves the best score for the least number of defects found during the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board mechanical inspections.
