Thomas Built to hold western tech training
The first western region edition of the school bus manufacturer's technician institute will cover such topics as maintenance and inspections, 2010 emissions systems and advanced electrical.
RENO, Nev. — The first western region edition of the Thomas Built Institute will be held here this summer.
Thomas Built Buses has been conducting the school bus technician training program each year at its High Point, N.C., headquarters. That edition will be held May 10-13, as previously reported. The new western edition is scheduled for July 26-28.
Topics to be covered in the Reno program include:
• 2010 emissions systems
• advanced electrical
• testing and maintaining the coolant system
• proper procedures for maintenance and inspections, with discussion of cost-savings tips
• choice of either Type C multiplex, service link and troubleshooting or Type D electrical and fan drive
