Student Transportation Inc. (STI) is honoring its employees for their dedication to service and commitment to safety during a company-wide Employee Appreciation Week this Monday through Friday.
Events will take place in STI’s more than 120 locations across North America to recognize the company’s more than 9,000 drivers, dispatchers and mechanics, who officials said are “caring members of their local communities” and deliver safe, reliable and on-time school transportation.
Barbecues, catered lunches and breakfasts, and award ceremonies and prize raffles are among the events scheduled.
Officials said that the participation of local school districts is highly encouraged, and in the past, districts have elected to sponsor their local bus terminal's activities.
"It is important to know that it's not the name on the side of the bus that makes us the great company we are," Chairman and CEO Denis J. Gallagher said. "It's what's under the hood and behind the wheel that makes us … an ever-growing group of people that I am proud to call family — our STI family."
In support of the company-wide Employee Appreciation Week, STI released a video message from Gallagher — shown below — where he expresses his appreciation for those employed by STI and operating subsidiaries Student Transportation of America and Student Transportation of Canada.
