GUTHRIE, Okla. — A school bus driver here is getting substantial response to a request she posted on Facebook for bottled water for the students she transports in a hot bus without air conditioning, News 9 reports.
Bus driver Brenda Burns’ goal for the upcoming school year is to have water available for every Guthrie Public Schools bus rider, according to the news source. She was concerned for the students, some who ride the bus for more than one hour, and said her goal can be expensive.
Burns posted a request on Facebook for cases of bottled water for the students. In response to the post, she has received “a ton” of donated water, News 9 reports.
Burns told the news source that the school district is working on a plan to revise some of the bus routes so that students don’t have to travel so far.
