SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. — Educational Bus Transportation, a school transportation company owned by The Trans Group, recently sponsored The Friends of the Poor Walk/Run in Bethpage, New York, to help make a difference for those living in poverty.

Funds raised from the walk/run will go toward the special work projects of the local Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conferences and Councils, according to the event's organizers.

“At Educational Bus, we care deeply about the communities we serve in Nassau and Suffolk Counties,” said John Corr Jr., president of Educational Bus Transportation. “The children we transport to school each day come from every walk of life. Supporting groups like the United Way of Long Island and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul helps ensure that families in need receive the help they deserve.”

Corr added that he was proud of Educational Bus drivers and employees for their participation, and believes their actions will make a difference in the community.

The Friends of the Poor Walk/Run is a national event coordinated by the development team at the National Council of the United States Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

As a member of The Trans Group, Educational Bus serves school districts in eastern Nassau and western Suffolk counties. The Trans Group provides transportation to hundreds of thousands of passengers annually in lower New York state and Long Island, and is actively involved in the school bus industry on the state and federal level.
