DEPOSIT, N.Y. — Leonard Bus Sales has been certified as a Navistar Diamond Edge dealer by IC Bus.
The achievement applies to all of Leonard Bus Sales’ full-service facilities.
Navistar’s Diamond Edge certification is earned by achieving parts and service metrics based on customer dwell time, which is the time it takes for a customer to get a bus diagnosed, repaired, and back on the road.
“Earning Navistar’s Diamond Edge certification from IC Bus is a testament to our entire team and our commitment to making it easy for our school transportation partners,” Leonard Bus Sales President Mike Leonard said. “Part of making it easy for our school transportation partners means we focus on providing them access to the best trained technicians and continuously work to reduce dwell time to ensure their school buses are back in service as quick as possible.”
To achieve Navistar’s Diamond Edge certification status, IC Bus dealers must:
• Meet or exceed service dwell time metrics and define long-term action plans for continuous and ongoing service dwell time improvement at the dealership location.
• Provide dedicated accelerated service lanes where customers receive immediate vehicle evaluation by a technician and are informed of required repair, required parts and availability, and estimated repair time within two hours of the vehicle’s arrival.
• Enroll new bus orders onto the OnCommand Connection remote diagnostics system and designate an OnCommand Connection service champion at each service location.
• Participate in the Dealership Inventory Alliance parts inventory program to ensure that common parts are readily available in the dealer’s inventory.
“IC Bus has an unrelenting passion for delivering on our mission of uptime,” said Trish Reed, vice president and general manager of IC Bus. “The Diamond Edge Certified Program recognizes dealers with the highest-performing service departments in our network.”
