WARRENVILLE, Ill. — Sixty school bus technicians from across the U.S. and Canada attended an IC Bus University session held the week of March 15 at IC’s Tulsa, Okla., bus plant.
Trainees were given a guided tour of the plant and provided up to 43 hours of instruction in bus maintenance, engines, electrical components, vehicle lifts, transmissions and other areas of concern for technicians.
“The March session filled quickly, and we turned a number of people away because we filled so fast,” said John Thompson, director of training for IC Bus. “We really appreciate the interest in our training program. Based upon the feedback that we received, this session of IC Bus University was a tremendous success.”
Due to the interest in the program, there is another IC Bus University session scheduled for the week of May 3. School bus technicians interested in attending the session should contact their IC dealers for registration information.
Technicians will be responsible for transportation to and from Tulsa, hotel costs, evening meals and the class fee of $300.
IC will furnish daily transportation, including airport pickup and return, lunch Monday through Friday and all course materials.
