BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Fleetio, a supplier of fleet management software, launched an application programming interface (API) to allow customers and third-party developers to leverage Fleetio data, such as vehicle records, maintenance logs and driver information, in other software applications.
The Fleetio API enables customers to seamlessly integrate multiple aspects of their business with fleet management operations, company officials said.
“Our API opens Fleetio up to be a fleet operations platform rather than just a software product,” said Tony Summerville, founder and CEO of Fleetio. “App developers, internal IT teams, third party software providers and more can use our API to build real-time integrations and provide a seamless experience for customers.”
Using the API, data stored in Fleetio can be utilized in other third-party systems, and Fleetio data can even be updated in real time by other software applications, all without bulk imports and exports, according to the supplier.
“Fleetio’s API has improved our clients’ efficiency by eliminating the need for tedious importing and exporting,” said Justin Alderman, CEO of IDAT Solutions. “We are now working to integrate Fleetio and our dispatching solutions with multiple platforms, making Fleetio a strong addition for our mutual clients. We also plan to integrate with Fleetio’s future API enhancements like driver-to-vehicle assignments."
