Beacon Mobility has acquired New York’s Rolling V Bus Corp., a privately held school bus contracting company run for nearly 70 years by the Vallone and DeSabato families.
Nick Vallone, Rolling V’s executive vice president, said in a LinkedIn post: “I watched my Dad take this company from a few buses with a single contract to hundreds of buses across (seven) locations. Most kids wanted to be a fireman or doctors, but all I ever wanted to be when I grew up was someone like him. It has been a dream come true to lead this company for the past several years.”
Rolling V, based in South Fallsburg, offers school bus and regional charter coach services. The company got its start in 1954 as Pioneer Bus Corporation.
“Their success was based upon a customer service ethic and an eye towards innovation, bringing new and creative transportation solutions to the Catskills region of New York,” Beacon Mobility noted in their LinkedIn announcement about the acquisition. “Rolling V’s 400 employees are still operating to that high standard, serving their communities with their expertly maintained and operated fleet of 270 vehicles.”
