Many recalled school buses haven't been fixed

About 250,000 school buses recalled from 2005 to 2010 have yet to be remedied, according to NHTSA officials. The average completion rate of mature recalls for school buses during that time period is 65%, which is lower than the completion rate for other vehicles, 68%.

The EPA has reportedly approved a diesel-to-CNG (compressed natural gas) dedicated package for the diesel International DT466 series engine. NGV Motori USA and Clean Vehicle Solutions LLC partnered to bring the conversion package to the intermediate class vehicle market.

Bosch releases updated part finder app

The app enables technicians to locate a Bosch part for their vehicles, and it adds alternators and water pumps to the existing product lines that are already part of the app, including spark plugs, wiper blades, oxygen sensors, fuel pumps and battery chargers. The updated app can be downloaded from the App store for iPhones and iPads, and it will soon be available from the Amazon store for the Kindle Fire and Google Play for Android phones.

The diesel options are the ISB6.7 and ISL9, which feature onboard diagnostics and the Cummins Aftertreatment System, which integrates a diesel particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction. The Cummins Westport ISL G natural gas engine features a passive Three-Way Catalyst aftertreatment system.

Thomas Built to develop CNG-fueled Type C
