Electric vehicle mechanics can now purchase insulated T-handle hex key sets from tool brand Dynamic.
These hex keys are available in both metric and SAE sizes and are VDE certified to 1,000 VAC in compliance with IEC 60900.
Dynamic Introduces Insulated T-Handle Hex Key Sets
Dynamic Tools now offers six-piece T-handle hex key sets designed specifically for usage with high-voltage systems like those found on electric school buses.
The new insulated T-handle hex keys from Dynamic are tested with 10,000 volts to ensure user safety.

The SAE set includes six pieces varying from 5/23” to 3/8” in size, while the six-piece metric set has sizes from 2.5mm to 8mm.
The hex keys feature ergonomic comfort grip handles for easy operation and a secure-no-slip grip. The tip sizes are clearly marked on the handle, and the precision-machined black oxide tips provide an exact fit.
The company said each piece undergoes a multi-step insulation process to increase reliability. To ensure the insulation resists potential electric shock, each tool is charged with 10,000 volts of energy for 180 seconds. The company also tests the flame resistance and durability of the insulating material.
These hex keys have been confirmed to be suited for school bus maintenance.
Dynamic offers a limited lifetime warranty for the tool sets.
