Intellitec Products introduced a new Heavy Duty Battery Guard, serving as an all-in-one automatic battery disconnect system that saves users from unwanted maintenance and downtime.

This Battery Guard continuously monitors voltage and automatically disconnects the power when it drops below a preset threshold to protect and prevent dead batteries. The 250-amp continuous load capacity makes it ideal for specialty vehicles needing low-voltage protection.

Ned Schiff, president of Intellitec Products stated: “The Heavy Duty Battery Guard provides the most complete solution to keeping your batteries operable and healthy. It is very economical and easy to install. Utilizing our proven latching relay, the HDBG only draws power when changing state, making it a 'green' product  compared to the continuous duty solenoids frequently used in this application, which drain unnecessary power from the batteries and generate excessive heat.”

“[It] adds value to the electrical system of a vehicle at an affordable cost," Schiff added. "Drivers can have peace of mind when leaving their vehicles parked that they’ll always return to a working vehicle. The HDBG can be paired with an LED pushbutton switch to give the user control of the connection status, as well as a convenient way to know whether it is connected or not.”
