FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Blue Bird has a new addition to its stable of alternative-fuel buses.

The Blue Bird Propane-Powered Micro Bird by Girardin will be offered for sale starting in July, with production beginning toward the end of this year, company officials said.

The Micro Bird Type A buses have seating up to 30 passengers and are manufactured for the school, child care, Head Start, church, tour and shuttle markets. They are sold exclusively by Blue Bird dealers.

For other alternative-fuel options from the manufacturer, the Blue Bird Vision Type C is available with propane, and the All American RE Type D is available with compressed natural gas.
