Ads to be placed inside buses at Pa. district

The Parkland School District says it has the potential to generate about $150,000 in a year by selling 16 ad spaces inside a pilot fleet of 46 school buses. The signs will be made of a magnetic material and secured just above the bus windows.

Contracted Pa. bus drivers still eligible for jobless benefits

School bus drivers in the state who work for private companies can continue to collect unemployment during the summer break in between school years after a bill that would have amended this law has died in the General Assembly — the bill’s sponsor has withdrawn his name from the legislation. Selina Pittenger, executive director of the Pennsylvania School Bus Association, discusses with SBF the association’s efforts to prevent the bill from progressing.

Pennsylvania district could save $875K by doubling more bus runs

The district has 38 percent of its buses making double runs; the figure will increase to 90 percent next school year by making extensive route changes, officials from School Transportation Consultants say.
