Here, we share highlights from Love the Bus celebrations held earlier this month across the U.S., as well as the American School Bus Council's event, which included speakers from NHTSA and the EPA.

In Arlington, Virginia, fifth-grade safety patrol students at Tuckahoe Elementary School posed with officials from NHTSA, EPA, ASBC and Arlington Public Schools during ASBC's Love the Bus main event.

Nakia Arnold, a school bus monitor for Arlington Public Schools, was recognized for her dedication and safety record by Arlington Superintendent Dr. Patrick Murphy.

Murphy also recognized Arlington school bus driver Fernando Rivas for his dedication and safety record.

Christopher Grundler, director of the U.S. EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality, discussed the yellow bus’ environmental benefits with students.

Fourth grade students at Glendale (Ariz.) Elementary School District #40 (GESD #40) took part in a school bus search and learned about air pollution, propane buses, anti-bullying and safety on the bus.

Dousman (Wis.) Transport Co. made breakfast for its driver as part of its annual School Bus Driver Appreciation Week.
